Volunteer Education
Training Requirements
  • You will be provided and must complete 38 hours of classroom training.
  • Following classroom training, you will serve an internship of no less than 30 days under the supervision and guidance of an experienced Regional Coordinator.
  • After completing the above, you will be ready to fill out an Ombudsman Certification Application that we will submit to the State of California.

Certification
After State Certification, an Ombudsman is expected to attend monthly meetings which afford us the opportunity to provide on-going education, and to keep ombudsmen abreast of local, state and national trends and legislation. Each Ombudsman must complete 12 hours of continuing education units per annum to meet California State's annual re-certification requirements.
